Paula Jo Boykin ASID

Paula is a professional member of ASID, IIDA, and IDS. She earned a B.A. from Ursuline College.

Paula founded Spectrum Design Services, a national award winning design firm, in 1980. The firm specializes in hospitality, restaurant, office and high-end residential design. Paula merged Spectrum Design Services with MBI-K2M Architecture in 2007, and their offices now include Cleveland, Ohio; Charlotte, North Carolina;  Key West, Florida, and they continue to add locations. Paula continues to be on the company’s advisory board and works with the former SDS team on a variety of joint venture projects.

Paula has been active in a number of non-profit organizations and boards including The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland, the Amazon Conservation Team in Washington, D.C.. She started a local NC fund raising effort that raises money for building ADA homes for wounded veterans in NC through the Patriot Military Family Foundation. She has sat on advisory boards for a variety of colleges, and has also been a speaker in many design venues. She has authored three design books.

Paula works closely with Boykin Management Company on design consulting that includes CAPX budgeting, reflagging, and retrofitting hotels, FF&E specifications, project management, and full turnkey services. She also consults on all employee uniform designs.

Paula, and her husband Bob, are the proud grandparents of five.
