The company's first management venture started with a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge in South Bend, Indiana, which led the company's developing and operating other Howard Johnson's Motor Lodges in Illinois, Texas and Pennsylvania. In 1968, Marriott selected BMC as one of its first franchisees, which stimulated the company's growth alongside one of the nation's fastest growing hotel chains which continued for the next twenty years. Throughout the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's, BMC expanded its relationships with other leading organizations including Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inns, Hampton Inn, Radisson and Crowne Plaza to accelerate growth into new markets across the U.S. In addition to operating branded hotels, the company has developed an expertise operating independent hotels and resorts that require highly-focused and creative sales and marketing and operational strategies.
